This Citizen Eco Drive Mickey Watch is Not Mousy

Citizen eco drive Mickey Mouse watches are keepsake wristwatches
that are as popular as men's and ladies' watches as they are for
children. Both Citizen with its eco drive and Mickey Mouse watches
have a long history and sterling reputations.

The Citizen Watch Company began in Tokyo in 1918 as the Shokosha
Watch Research Institute. Its name was changed to Citizen Watch
Company in 1930. Mickey Mouse watches became part of its standard
repertoire some time in the 1960's and the eco-drive that Citizens
made famous was introduced in April of 1966. Citizen eco-drive wrist
watches require no battery and are simply powered by light, and thus
ecologically friendly.

Though discontinued, Citizen eco drive Mickey watches, whether men's
or ladies, are keepsakes and collector's items and as such are
available online.

At one wristwatch collectors auction site you can, for example, buy
a men's Citizen Mickey watch with brown leather strap for under $80.
This men's watch has a stainless steel watch case with gold tone, a
polished finish, a white watch dial with Mickey Mouse design, hands
and hour markers that are gold toned, the date displayed at three
o'clock, a Tang wrist watch clasp, Japanese quartz movement, and of
course, the advantageous Citizen eco-drive that keeps your watch
running without any battery. This watch is water resistant.

The way wristwatches are worn today and the way they are made has
immensely changed during the course of years. Previously, watches were
known as pocket watches when they used to hang down the side pockets

I installed a RETRAX retractable bed cover on my 1997 Ford F-150 pickup several years ago. After I sold the truck, I sure missed that cover, and must have talked it up enough, because my wife ordered a replacement for the new pickup. Not all watches are created equal and in the case of the Swiss made
Swatch watch these words ring true. The Swiss have long been awed for
their expertise in the timekeeping industry. Well they have delivered
that same precision and craftsmanship in the form of wristwatches,
namely the Swatch watch. In 1982 the Swiss company ""Swatch Group
Ltd"" was founded and is thought by many to be the biggest watchmaker
of our time.

The company was formed by the merging of two already great Swiss
watch manufacturers, ASUAG and SSIH and is currently located in Biel,
Switzerland. Swatch Group makes products in the timekeeping industry,
jewellery and of course watches. Swatch was introduced to the market
for the first time in March of 1983 and has 24,000 employees
worldwide.

The meaning of the word Swatch was a combination of the two words
""second"" and ""watch"" and was part of a marketing campaign to re-
establish Switzerland as a major player in the worldwide wristwatch
market. The plan was to introduce a watch that was both casual while
also being fun and functional at the same time. Soon the Swatch watch
began to gain popularity and as it did so captured its place in the
market challenging Japanese manufacturers such as Seiko. Swatch Group
was successful in putting the Swiss back on the map in a big way. Two
years after introducing their line of Swatch watches the Swatch group
successfully sold more than 3.5 million watches.
